General aftercare for common Holistique treatments. This is general information, not medical advice. Your provider may give you different or more specific instructions based on your treatment. If anything here differs from what your provider told you, follow your provider.

Botox, DAXXIFY, Xeomin and other neurotoxins
- Stay upright and avoid rubbing, massaging or pressing on treated areas for the rest of the day.
- Skip strenuous exercise, saunas and facials for the rest of the day.
- Small bumps, mild redness or a small bruise can occur and usually fade quickly.
- Results build over several days and are usually fully visible in about two weeks. Contact us before then if you have concerns rather than waiting.
- Get emergency care for trouble swallowing, speaking or breathing.
Dermal fillers (lip filler, Revanesse, Radiesse, Sculptra)
- Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common for several days. Cool compresses (wrapped, not directly on skin) can help.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, heat and pressure on the area for the period your provider gave you.
- Sculptra patients: follow your provider’s massage instructions exactly.
- Call us immediately, any time, if you notice skin that turns white, dusky, blue, grey or blotchy, severe or worsening pain, or skin that feels cold near the treated area. These can be signs of a blocked blood vessel and need same-day treatment.
- Call 911 or go to the ER for any change in vision, or for swelling of the lips, tongue or throat with trouble breathing.
Microneedling, SkinPen and Morpheus8
- Redness and mild swelling, like a sunburn, are common for a few days. Morpheus8 combined with CO₂ laser has a longer recovery.
- Do not wear makeup until your provider says it is okay, usually at least the first day.
- Wash gently with a mild cleanser and use only the products your provider recommends.
- Pause retinoids, acids, scrubs and other active products until your provider says to restart.
- Avoid heavy sweating, saunas, swimming and direct sun while skin heals, and use sunscreen daily.
Fraxis CO₂ laser resurfacing
- Follow your provider’s written wound-care plan exactly, including how often to cleanse and moisturize.
- Expect redness, swelling, a sunburn-like feeling and peeling. Do not pick or peel skin.
- Take any medicine your provider prescribed, such as an antiviral, exactly as directed.
- Avoid the sun completely while healing, and use sunscreen once your provider clears it.
Lumecca IPL photofacial
- Brown spots usually darken and look like coffee grounds before flaking off over one to two weeks. This is expected. Do not scrub or pick.
- Mild redness or warmth usually settles within a day.
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning, and use sunscreen daily.
VI Peel and other chemical peels
- Follow the instructions in your peel kit, including when to apply the after-care products.
- Peeling usually begins after a few days. Let skin shed on its own; do not pick or pull.
- Avoid other active products, heat and sun until peeling is finished, and use sunscreen.
Laser hair removal
- Redness and small bumps around hair follicles are common for a few hours to a day.
- Avoid hot showers, saunas, workouts that cause heavy sweating, and sun exposure for the period your provider gave you.
- Between sessions, shave instead of waxing, plucking or threading.
- Treated hairs may appear to grow and then shed over the next weeks. This is normal.
IV therapy and vitamin injections
- Mild bruising or tenderness where the needle went in is common.
- Keep the bandage on for a short time and drink water afterward.
- Call us if the arm becomes very swollen, red streaks appear, or you develop a fever.
Call Holistique the same day after any treatment if you have
- Signs of infection: increasing redness, warmth, swelling, pus, or fever
- Blisters, crusting or open sores you were not expecting
- Pain that is getting worse instead of better
- A cold sore outbreak in or near a treated area
