The O‑Shot is a name used for platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections into selected vulvar, clitoral, or vaginal tissues. It is promoted for aspects of sexual and urinary wellness, but it is not FDA-approved to treat sexual dysfunction, urinary incontinence, or other gynecologic conditions. Research remains limited, and individual results cannot be predicted.
PRP is prepared from a patient’s own blood and contains a concentrated portion of platelets. Although PRP is used in several areas of medicine, preparation methods and injection protocols vary, and use in women’s sexual wellness is not an established standard treatment.
A confidential evaluation reviews symptoms, goals, medications, bleeding risk, pregnancy status, infection, pelvic pain, prior procedures, and whether examination or referral to a gynecology or pelvic-floor specialist is more appropriate.
Potential risks include discomfort, bruising, bleeding, swelling, infection, altered sensation, and no meaningful improvement. Treatment is not appropriate for everyone, and consultation does not guarantee that it will be recommended.
